Interested in joining the Board of this newly established research centre for natural hazard resilience and disaster risk reduction?
Natural Hazards Research Australia is being established as a world-leading research centre for natural hazard resilience and disaster risk reduction. It will be one of Australia’s largest repositories of research data, products and applications aimed at mitigating the occurrence and severity of natural hazards and natural disasters and will build on current research into bushfires and natural hazards including the work of the Bushfire and Natural Hazards Cooperative Research Centre Ltd (CRC), and its predecessor, the Bushfire CRC.
As part of the transition of the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC into the new Natural Hazards Research Australia centre there will be a refresh of the current CRC Board. As the initial phase of that, the Centre is seeking two new non-executive directors to replace retiring directors.
The two key skills areas that the Board is initially seeking to fill are:
Individual director skills may include experience in multi-party national research ventures, government policy and process, financial management, disaster mitigation, disaster recovery, fire, other hazards, land management, risk, community engagement and operational agency service delivery.
Natural Hazards Research Australia values diversity, including gender diversity and, to this end, strongly encourages a broad range of candidates to apply.
