  • key executive appointment

The South Australian public sector is the state’s largest employer, with a diverse workforce of more than 100,000 employees. The Chief Executive role at the SA Fire and Emergency Commission (SAFECOM) is a rare opportunity for a high-calibre and tenacious leader to support the state’s fire and emergency service organisations, ensuring that volunteers and employees are provided with the necessary resources to deliver their vital work throughout South Australia.

Reporting to the Minister for Police, Emergency Services and Correctional Services, the Chief Executive plays a key role on the SAFECOM board, while also strategically leading emergency services across the state including governance, strategy, policy and delivery of legislative responsibilities and outcomes.  The role works in partnership with the Minister’s office and collaboratively engages with the Chief Officers of each of the fire and emergency services agencies.

This key appointment provides the forum to lead, influence and contribute to the delivery of first-class emergency services for South Australia. Political astuteness, extensive leadership experience in complex emergency services environments, collaborative and strategic decision-making and diplomacy will guarantee success.  Sound like you?
